This place is the greatest. Since I last posted we have had two practices. They were very interesting. I have never been in a better football environment in my entire life. These guys all work these crazy long days, and then come out to practice just because they love to play football. In the states, one of the hardest things for coaches is to A. get max effort from your players (especially in practice) and B. teach the players who are sort of aren't coachable. These dudes bust their asses every single play (even if the play doesn't make any sense) without asking questions, AND, on top of that, listen to everything we say. It couldn't be a better situation for someone with a coaching background who is also playing on the team. We quickly realized that we are going to have to do our best to get the entire time on the same page, as far as scheme. We have a whiteboard in our sick ass apartment, and we have been having meetings with some of the players. We plan on hosting meetings at our house all season and getting the team prepared and dialed in. The practices were crazy. There was way too much full tackling. These guys will run through a brick wall for their coaches.
Other than football, we have been staying plenty busy. One night we had a beautiful Italian dinner at one of the family's houses out on the country side. We spent a day about an hour away right, right near the Swiss Alps, watching the Junior team's (high school age) camp practices. We got memberships to the nicest gym I've ever been in. It is known as a very famous power lifting gym and it has some technology and machines that I've never even seen or heard of. We've been to Munich 4 times now, it's a quick 30 min train ride. The last two times we went, we mobbed the entire city and saw SOOOOOOO much. It's such a beautiful city and I can't seem to get enough of it. There's nonstop delicious beer drinking, delicious food eating, and ridiculously amazing stuff to see. I swear I'm gonna get fat here. Furstenfeldbruck is a little smaller, but definitely not a little city. We've gone out a few times to this local bar now, and I like it a lot. There's also a little nightclub that's pretty cool. I was forced to learn to drive a stick shift, and Ian was forced to learn to ride a bicycle. Anyways, this place keeps getting better and better and we're only a week in! We are really loving the Bavarian way, and I cannot wait for the season to start! My computer was jacked up, but now we're good. As soon as anything happens I will make sure to update. Until next time, Ciao people! I miss you all.
