Finally, after an 11 hours of nonstop flying, we have made ourselves at home here in Bavaria! We were greeted by coach Butch Dohrmann in Munich Airport and we have been on the move ever since!
After touching down at around 2:30 p.m., Ian and I were both pretty damn tired and hungry. Butch, who is originally from Munich, took us to downtown Munich where we enjoyed our first Bavarian meal. We went to a Brewery called Augustine's that is something like 900 years old. I had my first German beer (bomb) and ate this stuff that I'm still not quite sure the name of (Liber Disch???) and it was insane! It was this giant sausage that was in the shape of French toast, and it was served with an over easy egg on top with these pickled potatoes on the side. Holy shit, it was so good. After that Butch drove us to Furstenfeldbruck where we saw the field and some of the town for the first time. After that, he dropped us off at our new house in a small little town called Gernlinden. Our house is crazy!!! The dude that owns this joint must be loaded, because it is this 3 story mansion with like super modern technology inside. Ian and I have like our own wing of the house with its own kitchen and bathroom, and it's way more than I imagined having. I'll post some pics of the house and all that soon.
After napping for a few hours, we went out with a couple teammates to a little bar in Furstenfeldbruck called "Unterhaus". It was a cool little bar, no one really in there on a Tuesday night, but we got to meet about 6 teammates. They were all cool as hell and I'm excited to start ballin! We got home around 11 and didn't pass out til like 2. It's now about 8:30 in the morning, and I've been up for like 2 and a half hours. This jet lag is no joke! We're about to go snag some breakfast in Munich with a teammate and use the train for the first time. Our first practice is tonight at like 7, so I'm pumped to get out there and run around. So far, this place is the bomb. Good ass food, beer, and really damn nice people. I'll keep you guys posted on what's going on. I've never done one of these blogs, and I don't really know how they work, but I'll get pics and all that going as soon as I can. Until next time peeps! Much Love!
Evan
